Making of the Binary Adding Machine...

EXPERIENCE the digital operations in computers with our naked eyes. The basis of this machine is addition.  Since we can add two binary numbers using this machine it is very easy for the children to understand the binary addition. Here we made a wooden model (using a stand, frame with toggles and beads) with wood pieces arranged in such a manner so that the beads can move freely. When we give the inputs as binary numbers through the holes in the positions, the machine will give accordingly the sum of the given binary numbers.

On your retirement.. Mrs. ROSE JAMES

Teachers teach more by what they are than by what they say.

Mrs. Rose James or as her dear students call her Ruby teacher, daughter of Mr. T. T. Joseph and Mrs. Thressiamma Joseph, Thekkekanamkara , Edathua was born on 11th of October 1955.She did her schooling in Edathua and graduated in BA English Literature from Assumption college Changanasserry. She completed B.Ed from Sardar Vallabhai Patel University, Gujarat and started her career in the year 1979.Then she got married to Mr. James Mathew (Retd.Headmaster St.Xaviers ,Mithrakkary) and she has 3 kids. She worked almost 5 years in Nairobi, Kenya and was back to India in 1988. After her 20 glorious years of teaching experience in different schools in Edathua, Nedukkunnam and Mamoodu, on 9th Feb 2011 she is retiring from St. Anne’s GHSS, Changanasserry.

The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires. It is clear that Ruby teacher is a great teacher. I am very happy to share my feelings about her not as a daughter, but as a loyal student. She is a versatile teacher. She was my teacher at home from my childhood, but I got the privilege to be a student of her in my 10th standard. As she is graduated in English Literature, she was the person who inspired and improved my language to what I am now. She has influenced me a lot and she’s the best teacher I ever had in my life. From my friends and juniors who were her students, I have also heard the same and I think, her motherly love towards all students was the main reason behind it. She cared each student, who were good at studying, who were just average and also who were so weak, equally. She encouraged their talents, gave them moral supports and treated them as her kids. Besides her teaching skills, she is very good in extracurricular activities. She is a good elocutionist, a great compeirer and a very good poet. She also encourages her dear students to exhibit their talents and explore their skills. She is simply superb.

On this day of retirement, I just want to remember some lines by Aristotle "Those who educate children well are more to be honored than parents, for these only gave life, those the art of living well." But for me, I am blessed as my parents and my best teachers are the same.

Wishing her all happiness and blessings for a beautiful life after retirement.

Thanks
